Missouri AHEC Scholars Program

As part of a national program, Missouri AHEC Scholars is a statewide, regionally-based program for health professions students designed to enhance preparedness for practice through simulation, clinical, and community-based learning experiences.

The AHEC Scholars program is two years in length and applicants should be within two years of graduating from their program. Students must have a current interest in rural or underserved urban healthcare in a health professions degree or certificate program that includes but is not limited to medical, dental, pharmacy, nurse practitioner, nursing, physician assistant, social work, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and public/population health programs.

During their time as an AHEC Scholar, students will develop communication & leadership skills, get hands-on patient-centered experience, and grow their career network.
